Product Overview
The System Support Module consists of the dynamic disable function, the power monitor function, and the patient handling power module which has various power supplies used for patient handling functionality. The dynamic disables/TR driver function provides the DC bias signals needed for switching the various transmit switches needed in the Signa system. It also gets the unblank signal from the Signa system, which is then sent to the RF amplifier for unblanking, purposes. The dynamic disables function, also detects errors (open & shorted diodes in the switches) and sends the information back to the host. There are 3 sets of dynamic disable drivers that provides the required voltage or current, depending on mode selection, to 8 dynamic disable switch functions and the direct drive. The power monitor monitors the amount of forward RF power going to the patient. This function samples the amount of power going out to the patient, processes the signal and determines the maximum power level, pulse width and duty cycle of the transmitted pulse. The power monitor samples forward power within 5 ft or 0.2 dB from the point of RF generation. There would be two identical functions for redundancy. The patient handling power supply functionality provides all the power supply capability needed to operate the patient handling functions such as the dock assembly, table, shroud displays, etc. The peripherals that get power from this function are Scan Room Interface, Dock Assembly, Bore Light, Patient Alignment, Lights, PAC, Bore Vent Fan (comfort fan) and Gradient Cooling Fan. The patient handling power supply function supplies DC as well as AC power to various entities that reside in the magnet room.
