Product Overview
The Lock Washer, Split Ring M8 x 8.1 Inner Diameter (ID) 2.0 is a washer, which is a thin plate with a hole that is normally used to distribute the load of a threaded fastener, such as a bolt or nut. In split washers, the ring split at one point and bent into a helical shape. This allows the washer to exert a spring force between the fasteners head and the substrate. As a screw is tightened, these washers flatten to add tension to the joint and prevent from small amount of vibration. It creates more friction and resistance to the rotation. This washer is made of stainless steel with passivated finish. Stainless steels are iron-based alloys, which contains a minimum of chromium of around 10.5%. The presence of chromium offers corrosion resistance to stainless steel and helps to resist scaling at elevated temperatures. The unique composition of the material helps to offer good strength and hardness, thus making it suitable for wide range of applications. Stainless steel also maintains excellent toughness. This part is specially used in Warmer, Panda™ iRes, Giraffe™ Incubator, Panda™ iRes Warmer, Giraffe™ OmniBed, Giraffe™ Warmer and Infant Resuscitation System machines for fastening the parts together.
