Product Overview
This external retaining ring comes in a shape of english alphabhet "E" thus commonly known as E-Ring, basically it is a type of fastener that holds the components or assemblies onto a shaft or in a housing/bore when installed. These E-Rings are typically installed on a externally machined groove of the shaft, the rings have no lug holes and must be installed using applicators and once installed they act as a shoulder or collar which retains the specific component or assembly in place. The "E" shape exert a pre-load on an assembly when installed in the groove. This also takes up the end-play and acts like a spring, which keeps the assembly in compression. The Black Phosphate Steel enhances the corrosion resistance thus provides good service life. This E-Ring is compatible to be used in GE's Precision 500 D system's assemblies.
